Wave experiment at CosmoCaixa, Barcelona.

New year, new you, the gym advertisements like to promise, every January. Let’s flip that on its head: new year, new ears.

We’ve had fun with last year’s playlists—one for chilling (or pondering, or brooding) and one for clubbing, as I have written before, perhaps cringily; yet that is, in a nutshell, the binary we’re dealing with. And since I haven’t come up with any better pairs of opposites for this year, I’m going to stick with the same rubric: one playlist for floatier, more ethereal, ambient, experimental sounds, and another for the stuff that makes you sweat.

I’ll be maintaining these playlists all year long, regularly adding new material to the top of each playlist, including but not exclusive to the material I cover in the newsletter. I’m making them available exclusively to paying subscribers, as a thank you to their support, which makes Futurism Restated possible. Scroll on for links to the new playlists…
